No More Festerchield

Elder Wright is up close, Van Buren is in the back and I am driving on Charlottesville roads after driving on back roads for a "good minute" I had to adjust to city driving again.

So I am officially out of the Lawrenceville. I also am in a trio, and I am part of training again... I thought the training was done but it is not. We call ourselves the “threeo” because it is pretty awesome. We also have been going finding a ton and found 10 new people to teach. One lady, we found at 8:50.  She wanted faith so if she reads the book of Mormon and has the desire to be baptized and she can regain all of her faith. At 75, and never baptized- she had a desire to be baptized July 2. The reason that I say had is because after our second lesson with her she called us and said she wanted to be baptized in her church that she had not been attending for about 45 years because she did not like the preachers that it been going and preaching for the past 45 years... I just hope she's doing well. 

I am a missionary in the Charlottesville first Ward now and in the Charlottesville second Ward is Bronco Mendenhall. Brother Vitale So'oto (we just call him Bro So'oto) is his defensive line coach for UVa. He is legit.

The trifecta consists of me, Elder Van Buren, and Elder Wright.

We have been finding like mad fools (as stated prior) and the one miracle I want to say is when we were sharing a video to a guy named Danté who was checking the oil on his car and we asked if we could share a video with him and some kids that were playing nearby wanted to watch the video and after it was done, a nine year old that watched the video said, "Hey I want my mom to see this video," so she led us to her apartment and told her mom there are "White Jesus guys that have a God video to show you! Come on!" And her mom came down and she herself loved the video so we are teaching her and the other families in the area.

I am at the hospital at the moment so this is the only time I have to email...

So I have been in this area for 7 and 1/2 months (which, for a missionary to be in one area for that long is not as common as one would think). I received my transfer call so I will be leaving Tuesday and it has been a struggle to find the words to describe the amount of love I have developed for the congregation and its members and the downright people in the area.

Oh, I also played my stringed instrument in a duet with another Elder. Elder Harmer. We sang the song How Great Thou Art. It was quite touching.

Keys and what not

Week

So this week it was very slow overall and there was little to talk about except the things mentioned above.

Dorthy Wilson is already cranking through the Book of Mormon and has read (in the past month at least 130 pages of the Book of Mormon and just literally wants to read the entire Book of Mormon before being baptized so it's just a matter of waiting and patience.

Went on an exchange with Elder Burila so that was fun! We taught a few new people and were able to talk about the past 7 months we had been in the same areas. Good ol' times.

We also had another bonfire at Brother Lewis' place with him and his sister and her family and a few other members of the branch. I had my fill of 8 hotdogs and a few marshmallows and some tortilla wrapped hotdogs. 

Friday we had a bit of an excursion. We moved an old lady from an apartment to a house and I forgot the car keys and house key and didn't know I had left them at her house until like 8:15pm. One would think from 2-8 we would need the car, but we had members with us and driving us already pre-scheduled to teach with us sooo.... Didn't fully recognize it until later. We went up there and thankfully she was awake then got the keys and scurried back home before 9:30pm (the missionary in-apartment deadline time) and sadly, we missed it by a few minutes, but we let the leaders know and they said it was okay. I must fully recognize the full help of Brother Lewis on such a short notice, please pray for him and stuff for helping us out.

So a member was talking with me and he found out about my stomach surgeries and heart surgeries and said "well now you know that the quickest way to a mans house is through his stomach" I was laughing really hard.

Elder Day
